I was roll number one and you were two
I was slack and prompt were you
I asked you some doubts in that hall
Examinations are serious stuff you did stall
By and by both became engineers
I tumbled through, you-a favorite of seers
Years passed and we went our way
Amidst the success, never forgot you a single day
For what made me an achiever, a student better
Was pillion riding on your scooter to the coaching center
Your infectious laughter, your sparkling eyes
Made me warm and dream for the skies
They were halcyon days with no pain
Your swinging gait, shimmering mane
I miss it all still, as there was something more
Love not declared then, now I am sure
For fate has brought us near once again
Losing you and feeling all over that pain
Hear me out, my clumsiness ignore
I am ready to face what lies in store
So before it gets too late

If you miss those times idyllic

At 24, it was our house and baby showers
At 34 it was rushing home after working hours
At 44- the kids leaving the nest, till then theirs
At 54 it is again chocolates and flowers
Chocolates are life’s biffs, the negative powers
We braved through togetherness -the flowers
